Episode 4: (title goes here) {Quick Edit Version}

TakasaSanou: After resolving the murder of Takasa Daichi, the police have escorted my father away. Admist all of this, two more cases are about to explode into a confusing mess of identities!
TakasaSanou: ((Ready in 3...))
TakasaSanou: ((2...))
TakasaSanou: (( 1...))
Opening: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nMoZjmLKuo
MouriRan: *walks outside the apartment and sighs* ... *smiles at Kazuha*
ToyamaKazuha: Well, that case was a messy one, wasn't it Ran-chan?
ToyamaKazuha: Something wrong, Ran-chan?
MouriRan: Nothing, nothing... Just... *shivers* Crime scenes... *wry smile*
TakasaSanou: *walking out with Conan and Hattori, a soccer bag slung over one shoulder* I don't know how to thank you guys.
ToyamaKazuha: I know what you mean
* HattoriHeiji smile
HattoriHeiji: I'm just glad I could catch the right guy.
HattoriHeiji: I'm sure Kudou is too.
* EdogawaConan glares at Hattori.
EdogawaConan: I'm sure Shinichi-niichan will be glad you could help too, Heiji-niichan.
HattoriHeiji: I know, right? *grin*
* EdogawaConan is still glaring at Hattori for the name-slip.
TakasaSanou: Yeah. *he smiles, then kneels down and puts a hand on Conan's head, looking at the child* You're a lot like him. *he winks slightly* Keep kicking that soccer ball around, alright?
EdogawaConan: A-aa....
HattoriHeiji: \Why is he glarin' at me...\ *looks down at Conan* \I didn' do anything...\
EdogawaConan: R-Ran-neechan keeps saying that too....that I look like Shinichi-niichan....*nervous*
TakasaSanou: *a brief remembering look goes across his eyes* Say, she's good friends with Kudou-kun, isn't he?
EdogawaConan: R-Ran-neechan? Y-yeah....
EdogawaConan: \You already know that...why are you asking me?\
TakasaSanou: Mouri-san? *directed at Ran* I know I haven't talked much with you, but I've got something that belongs to you.
EdogawaConan: \Wait....how do YOU have something that belongs to RAN?\ *watching Takasa carefully*
MouriRan: Uh? *twirls to face him, blinking* ... To me...? \That time... he told me...\ *smiles at him*
TakasaSanou: *he digs into his soccer bag-- an old, familiar looking soccer bag at that-- and pulls out an

old looking, folded piece of paper with "Ran" written on one side in Shinichi's handwriting*
EdogawaConan: \W-what? Oh crap! I lent him that bag back in middle school.....Kuso, I must've

forgotten to take that letter out of it!\ *slightly panicked and trying to hide it*
MouriRan: This...? *stares at the paper*
EdogawaConan: \Oh great, I don't even remember what I wrote!\
MouriRan: \Wait... That... handwriting...\ That's... Shinichi's...
EdogawaConan: \Yeah, my handwriting. I wrote that years ago and ment to give it to you...and then I

forgot about it after a while when I couldn't find it....Kuso! Now what? What did it even say?\
Note: *There's only two lines written on the paper once it's unfolded* "If you want to know what I think

of you, you'll have to solve my riddle, Ran!"
HattoriHeiji: Oh? A mystery for neechan? *snickers at Kudou*
Note: *written underneath that line is simply: "Wheel 77" with an arrow pointing down*
MouriRan: w-- What--? *blushes madly*
EdogawaConan: *glares back at Hattori*
EdogawaConan: \Yeah, a mystery I wrote back in third year of middle school....and I don't remember

what it was anymore!\
MouriRan: T-- That--- That--- -... THAT SUIRI-OTAKU!!
EdogawaConan: *eyes go wide* Um...R-Ran-neechan? Wh-what does the note say? *too short to read

over her shoulder like Hattori*
* HattoriHeiji remembers something that he needed to do
MouriRan: *kneels, holding the piece of paper in front of Conan so he can read it*
HattoriHeiji: Oi, Kazuha. There is somethin' I need to do with Conan. So why don't you and neechan

solve that love puzzle?
ToyamaKazuha: ok
ToyamaKazuha: where are you going?
EdogawaConan: \Ah....I wonder if the rest of the riddle is still accessable? I know there was more to

it...but...since I lost that note....\ Ah...it's a code!
EdogawaConan: \And proof that I've been trying to find SOME way to tell her how I feel since at least

middle school....great, and Hattori saw it....\
ToyamaKazuha: So what do you think the riddle means, Ran-chan?
HattoriHeiji: Ah, it's nothing really. I just have something I need to check out while I'm here.
MouriRan: Wheel... 77... *blinks* Huh? A- And--- how AM I supposed to solve this? That... Shinichi...!
EdogawaConan: \Great, now she's mad....\ Ah...sure, I'll go with you, Heiji-niichan....
TakasaSanou: Well, I should get to practice. *he checks his watch* Ah, it's five thirty! I'm late! *he

adjusts his bag and starts down the street at a jog, waving over his shoulder at them*
MouriRan: T-- Take care-- *blinks and shakes her head, focusing on the piece of paper* Wheel...

*closes her eyes* \'what I think of you'...\ *blushes*
EdogawaConan: *watches Takasa leave, a little annoyed at him for witholding the note for so long, but

mostly just wishing he could go along to the soccer practice*
ToyamaKazuha: but Heij, I'm sure you could figure this riddle out faster than we can
ToyamaKazuha: What is so important that you two need to run off?
EdogawaConan: But...Kazuha-neechan...if Shinichi-niichan wrote it for Ran-neechan, it might be

important that she solve it herself! \Very important. That and I don't want Hattori sticking his nose in

this...\
HattoriHeiji: If Kudou made the note while he was in middle school, then it should be easy enough for you

two to figure out.
HattoriHeiji: ... Unless you really think you two aren't capable of solving a puzzle...
EdogawaConan: *shoots a quick glare at Hattori* \You say that like you think you were better back in

middle school....you weren't. The Yuki-onna case proves it.\
ToyamaKazuha: we are too!
MouriRan: *not really paying attention to them* ... Wheel... *places a finger on her lips, thinking* both

numbers and the arrow...
HattoriHeiji: Then prove it.
EdogawaConan: Heiji-niichan? What was it you wanted to go do?
* HattoriHeiji glances at Conan not wanting to say anything yet
HattoriHeiji: You two do whatever and Conan and I'll do what we need to do.
ToyamaKazuha: fine...we will. We dont need an ahou like you to help! Come on, Ran-chan! we'll solve

this ourselves
HattoriHeiji: C'mon Conan. *starts to walk away*
EdogawaConan: \Good. I wrote that for Ran, so she should be able to solve it...especially since she has

Kazuha-san helping....\
MouriRan: ... B-- But... I don't think I'll--- Ka-- Kazuha-chan! *holds the paper tightly against her chest*

\I'm not... I don't think I will...\
ToyamaKazuha: Come on, we can figure this out.
ToyamaKazuha: Now, lets have a look at that note......
HattoriHeiji: *when they are out of earshot* I got a client that wanted to meet me and another detective

of my choice at the Haido shopping center...
MouriRan: ... *stares at her and nods* -- Yes! *smiles*
* TakasaSanou is now known as NamakoKatumi
ToyamaKazuha: could wheel 77 be reffering to a place?
EdogawaConan: *half-moon eyes at Hattori* OK...so let's go. \Maybe we can be done before the girls

get there....\
MouriRan: Wheel could refer to a place... The arrow bothers me. *stroking her forehead* Wheel...
HattoriHeiji: This is it. The Ice cream parlor. At 6:00...
EdogawaConan: *looks up at the Ferris wheel* Aa. *follows Hattori over to the ice cream parlour*

Episode 3: The Mistaken Man Murder Case (Part 2)

{Episode 3}

HondaShouji: On the last episode, the two detectives have been alerted to a murder that took place in an apartment near the train tracks. Between witnesses, suspects, and accusations flying, I wonder if these two detectives can find the true culprit behind this case? *smirks slightly*

Subi: ((Cue Scene!))

{In the main room of the apartment with everyone.}

HattoriHeiji: \At this point the culprit could be anyone of them... Komoro would have a motive to frame Takasa-san because his son was killed and he was involved. Honda-san was being blackmailed by the victim, and the prime suspect is of course Takasa-san...\

TakasaSanou: *to Ran's comment* I'm not the only one who pushed beyond my limit. *he leans forward slightly, resting his chin on his hand, trying to avoid looking towards the bedroom door* ... -He- was far better at that, and still came out on top of the game. *his gaze drifts to Conan, and lingers, noticing the serious look on the child's face* ...

EdogawaConan: *feels eyes on him and looks up at Takasa and Ran* Ah...Sanou-niisan, is there anything else you remember that might help? \Do not tell me Takasa sees through the disguise that's fooled Ran for months....\

MouriRan: He...? Well-- *plays with her fingers, lost in her memories* ... He... *notices Conan and remains silent*

TakasaSanou: *shakes his head slightly, looking away back to Ran* He, what?

MouriRan: N-- Nothing...! *shakes her head, and looks away, trying to hide her blush, but still smiling innocently*

ToyamaKazuha: Think, Ran! what you saw may be important to this case!

EdogawaConan: \What are they talking about? Why is she blushing?\ Ran-neechan? Did you remember something?

TakagiWataru: Ah, sorry Conan-kun. The second witness was Yokoshiba Genkoda-san. Who lived downstairs from the victim's apartment. He stated that he heard Takasa-san yell "I am going to kill you!' and heard the body fall not too long after. When he managed to get to the door, he saw the killer bolting down the stairs

HattoriHeiji: Managed? He had difficulty getting to the door?

TakagiWataru: *nod* He has a slight limp.

EdogawaConan: He's sure it was Sanou-niisan's voice, though?

HattoriHeiji: \But wait... Didn't Komoro-san say Takasa went out after saying "I'm going to kill you"? Hmmm..\

EdogawaConan: What time was that?

TakagiWataru: Yeah, he was fairly certain he heard Takasa-san's voice

HondaShouji: *is standing in the corner of the room, a strangely puzzled look on his face as he listens to things*

TakagiWataru: He said around 12:22.

HattoriHeiji: \and yet it took him three minutes to check things out?\

HattoriHeiji: \That's not right. The times don't match up.\

EdogawaConan: \Probably a trick here somewhere....\

HattoriHeiji: \The victim was killed around 12:10 which is 12 minutes from what the second witness is saying.\

* EdogawaConan wanders into the other room, wanting to have a look.

EdogawaConan: \At least Hattori won't kick me out...and he'll help keep the police from kicking me out either...maybe forensics found something useful\

HattoriHeiji: \Looks like the scene itself will have to tell the story.\

{The room appears to be relatively normal, except for the taped out body of Takasa Daichi. One main point of interest in the room, however, is the desk in the corner-- It's a total mess. Papers are scattered everywhere. One drawer is a particular disaster, it doesn't even close.}

* EdogawaConan goes to investigate the desk

EdogawaConan: \The killer was looking for something....\

HattoriHeiji: \The place looks like someone lookin' for somethin'. Those 12 minutes would have been plenty of time.\

MouriRan: *shrugs* \Crime scenes...\ *shivering*

* SatouMiwako follows to keep an eye on the boys

* HattoriHeiji leans down to Kudou.

EdogawaConan: Hmm?

HattoriHeiji: oi, you thinkin' what I'm thinkin'? That downstairs neighbor doesn't seem too reliable and neither does Komoro

SatouMiwako: *leans against the door frame, watching them work* \Conan I know...Hattori-kun I've only seen once, though Takagi-kun seems to like him...\

HattoriHeiji: Komoro-san has a motive and made an incorrect statement in contradiction to what the witness said. Not only that but the times are off.

EdogawaConan: Aa.

EdogawaConan: See anything else? Wonder what our culprit was looking for...probably blackmail stuff or something.

HondaShouji: *quizzing one of the other forensic officers about the blade* How rare do you think that knife is? I've seen something like it before.

Officer: It's a fairly rare knife. We haven't been able to find any duplicates of it anywhere in the area. It's one of a kind.

EdogawaConan: Takasa does collect knives.

HondaShouji: That can't be.

Officer: I'm certain it is.

HondaShouji: *shakes his head*

HondaShouji: That knife isn't the only one of it's kind.

Satou's phone rings.

SatouMiwako: *answering phone* Hai?

Satou's phone: Officer on the other side of the line talks for a few minutes, then hangs up.

SatouMiwako: *nods and hangs up*

SatouMiwako: Autopsy report just came in.

* EdogawaConan looks up at Satou-keiji expectantly.

Megure-Keibu: Oooh? What did they say, Satou-kun?

SatouMiwako: The victim was struck unconscious before he was killed. Time of death is 12:10 am. The angle suggests the assailant was either taller or above the victim when striking, and there are no fingerprints on the knife.

Megure-Keibu: Hmm... That certainly matches up with what Okuhara-san said.

TakasaSanou: W-Wait a minute! *he stands up again* I'm shorter than my dad by at least half a foot!

KomoroGosho: If it was a downward stab, you could still do it. *grumbles*

TakasaSanou: I don't have that kind of upper body strength!

EdogawaConan: \Unfortunately that's not quite as good a defense as you might think....I've seen height messed with in both directions before....\

HondaShouji: The knife would've been held wrong. It's a switchblade knife. The blade comes up in one's hands, not down.

Megure-Keibu: It would? *goes to examine the knife* Mm, so it would.

HondaShouji: *moves over to the table across from Sanou* This must be pretty hard for you, huh? To come home to this.

EdogawaConan: Neh, Honda-san?

HondaShouji: Hm? *he looks down at the small child*

EdogawaConan: You said the knife wasn't the only one of its kind...you sounded really sure...have you seen one like it somewhere before?

HondaShouji: Ah.

Megure-Keibu: That can't be. The shopkeeper said it was one of a kind.

HondaShouji: I'm certain it isn't.

EdogawaConan: Where have you seen it before, then? Do you remember?

KomoroGosho: How can you possibly know?

SatouMiwako: No, the shopkeeper said he'd never seen another like it...but he didn't say for sure that it was completely unique...

HondaShouji: This is how. *he pulls something out of his pocket, and there's a sharp snap!, and he stabs an identical switchblade into the tabletop so everyone can see it.* Because I have this one just like it.

EdogawaConan: *inspects the knife* \Suspected something like that. So one of these knives is Takasa's, and the other is Honda-san's.\

Description: Sure enough, if compared to the murderer's knife, it is exactly the same, completely down to the slightly curved blade and unique hilt.

TakasaSanou: *stares, almost in shock. Even he'd been certain that there had been only one knife of that design.*

HattoriHeiji: Honda-san. Where were you that night?

EdogawaConan: Wow! It really is exactly like Sanou-oniisan's knife! *little-boy act*

TakagiWataru: It really does... *astounded*

SatouMiwako: Honda-san, do remember where you bought this?

HondaShouji: I believe I was on my way home from work. I was working late on a project that needs to be finished by the end of the month. *he glances towards Satou* At a knife shop two blocks from my house on the other side of town. *he shrugs offhandedly*

SatouMiwako: How long ago?

HondaShouji: Two or three weeks ago. I go through a rough stretch of town on the train, so I bought one to defend myself should the need arise.

SatouMiwako: *nods and leaves to go check this other knife shop*

KomoroGosho: *oddly quiet now, not sure what to make of Honda's story, let alone the situation now*

Megure-Keibu: *To Honda* When did you head home last night?

HondaShouji: *hums thoughtfully* Around 11:45, I believe. It's a bit of a walk to the train station from the office, though.

EdogawaConan: Ne, ne, Takagi-keiji?

TakagiWataru: What is it, Conan-kun?

EdogawaConan: What did Okuhara-san look like?

TakagiWataru: ER well... *slight blush.* She's kinda pretty and has shoulder length black hair.. But looks a bit skinny.

* TakagiWataru hopes that Satou-san didn't hear that.

EdogawaConan: Like an adult version of Ayumi-chan?

* TakagiWataru looks back at Conan

TakagiWataru: Oh yeah, she does wear glasses too... Said she was getting ready for bed too.

EdogawaConan: Most people who wear glasses take them off when they're getting ready for bed.... \Well, people who actually need the glasses, that is...\

EdogawaConan: So maybe Okuhara-san didn't have her glasses on and couldn't see very well? My dad can't see very well when he doesn't have his glasses on...and Sensei needs her glasses too...so something on the other side of the train tracks would be pretty blurry, wouldn't it?

HattoriHeiji: And as much obscured by the train passing itself

TakasaSanou: *is watching Conan and Hattori very closely now, a clear look of recognition in his eyes, though he doesn't say anything*

EdogawaConan: *noticing he's being watched again* \No way....I didn't even know Takasa all that well, he was just a friend on the soccer team, we weren't even in the same class...how would he notice when RAN hasn't?\

EdogawaConan: *starts laying the little-kid impersonation on thick* If she didn't have her glasses on, she couldn't see, right? *bright smile*

EdogawaConan: Sensei dropped her glasses the other day and I picked them up for her...and she mistook me for Ayumi-chan!

HattoriHeiji: Yeah.. Not wearing glasses does distort things. Looks, height.

* HattoriHeiji looks to Honda-san

TakagiWataru: Eh? Hattori-kun, what is it?

HattoriHeiji: I've figured out who the culprit is. And Takasa-san can't be the culprit.

TakagiWataru: Re- really?

* HattoriHeiji nod.

HattoriHeiji: It wasn't about tricks. Not intentional anyway.

Megure-Keibu: No intentional tricks? *looks puzzled*

HattoriHeiji: What Okuhara-san saw was a distortion of vision because she had her glasses off, and to add to that a train went by farther adding to the distortion.

HondaShouji: *puts his hands in his pockets, listening*

KomoroGosho: *also listening* Then... if it wasn't Sanou-kun, who was it?

HattoriHeiji: Okuhara-san described the killer as someone to seemed to be Takasa-san.

MouriRan: *sighs, relieved* ... I'm so glad... *whispering to herself*

HattoriHeiji: But based on the autopsy, the knife was in a downward angle. Meaning the killer has to be much taller than the victim. There's only one person that fits that profile... That's you, Honda Shouji-san

HondaShouji: *simply raises an eyebrow* Oh?

HattoriHeiji: Takasa-san stated he could have dropped his knife on the way to the theater through a hole in his pants. If you were to pick up that knife after leaving the murder weapon at the scene, then Takasa-san's prints should be on the knife

HondaShouji: Hm. *he closes his eyes for a moment, then opens them to look at the teenage detective* Then what reasons would I have to kill him?

HattoriHeiji: I noticed how you were very caring towards Takasa-san earlier. I thought you two were just close, but it's more than that. Takasa-san is your son, isn't he?

EdogawaConan: *watching Takasa*

TakasaSanou: ?! *his eyes widen slightly, looking back at Honda's very straight face*

EdogawaConan: \And you had no idea. I thought that might be the case. And now you have something to focus on other than me.\

HondaShouji: . . . *sighs softly, then tilts his chin up slightly* He is.

HattoriHeiji: I figured that it might be something like that when I saw that the desk was ransacked. The killer was most likely looking for something that Takasa Daichi-san was using to blackmail someone with. Seeing as Komoro-san pointed out you were being blackmailed, it only proves it farther.

* EdogawaConan moves to stand next to Ran, leaving the case to Hattori because of Takasa's scrutiny.

HattoriHeiji: Most likely those photos you stole are in your possession. At your house or a locker.

HattoriHeiji: And since Satou-keiji has the knife, all we have to do is see if Takasa-san's prints are on it. If so, then it proves it was also in his possession

HondaShouji: *closes his eyes, and pulls a key from his pocket and drops it onto the table* It seems you have me.
