{We left off last time with our favorite detective tied up on the deck of a ship under guard.}
EdogawaConan: \One of these guards is the pirates' buddy...and now I know which one...\
EdogawaConan: \One of the guards must have given me away to the pirates. That's the only way they could have known I was trying to untie occhan.\

EdogawaConan: \Here's what I know... the three guards are Kawakami Shunsuke, Oshima Ichiro, and Hayashi Masaso...\
EdogawaConan: \Both times I got caught, each one was doing something.\
EdogawaConan: \Kawakami Shunsuke was bowing his head the first time, while he was shaking the sleep off the second time.\
MouriRan: *yawns in dreams*
EdogawaConan: \Oshima Ichiro was growling softly the first time, and he was glaring the second. No deviation from character there.\
EdogawaConan: \Finally there's Hayashi Masaso. The first time, he was coughing, and the second time he was working with his knots.\
EdogawaConan: \Of course, based on what I know about how the traitor is contacting the pirates, it's obvious which one it is!\
EdogawaConan: \Now I only need to find a way to deal with that person and get loose... and maybe then we can catch these pirates...\
* EdogawaConan readies the stun-watch to fire....
* MouriKogoro Looks for something jagged on the ground.
MouriKogoro: \Damn it. There is nothing here! On a boat no less. Tch!\
* EdogawaConan carefully aims the watch, checking as best he can and multiple times to make sure he's firing at the right person...
* EdogawaConan fires the stun watch at Kawakami Shunsuke.
KawakamiShunsuke: Ah...
* KawakamiShunsuke falls back against a crate.
* Pirate1 hasn't noticed.
* EdogawaConan scootches carefully back over to Kogoro and goes back to attempting to untie him.
Pirate1: Where is that bastard? He should be back by now to help watch the prisoners. Two minute intervals...
MouriKogoro: "Ah... Good." He whispers
* Pirate3 shouts down from above, "Checking in!"
* Pirate2 shouts from an unknown location, "Checking in!"
Pirate1: Well, at least he's okay...
EdogawaConan: \Now untie me....Ran's still asleep and waking her up will alert them....\ *shifts to give Kogoro easier access to the knots that bind him*
* MouriKogoro works vigorously to get Conan untied. "Got it!" Get the last knot. "Now untie Ran..." He whispers looking at the pirate

* Pirate2 walks back.
Pirate2: Hey, I'm back.
Pirate1: It took you long enough.
Pirate2: I checked in, didn't I?
* EdogawaConan nods and moves quietly to untie Ran, shaking her a little to try and wake her.
Pirate1: Yeah. We should be okay.
Pirate2: Hey, have the prisoners given you any trouble?
Pirate1: No, I haven't--
* Pirate1 glances over at the prisoners.
Pirate1: . . .
* EdogawaConan does his best to look innocent.
* Pirate1 slowly pulls out his gun.
* MouriRan sighs in dreams
* Pirate2 also pulls out a gun.
EdogawaConan: \Great....well, she's at least partly loose....\
Pirate1: Hey you! Get back down!
Pirate1: Get down right now!
Pirate2: What kind of idiot lets the hostages untie themselves?
* EdogawaConan screams at the top of his lungs, hoping Ran will wake.
Pirate2: What do you think that's going to do?
* MouriKogoro readies himself for attack when the time arrives
Pirate2: They can't hear us in the city.
Pirate2: They can't even see us!
MouriRan: H--- Huh?! *blinks, and stands up, with a sleepy face* W-- what?
Pirate1: Hah. Dumb kid.
* MouriRan stares at the gun with a serious look
Pirate2: Ugh. What a hassle.
Pirate2: Now you're going to have to tie them all up again.
Pirate1: Me?
Pirate2: You let them loose you moron.
* Pirate2 points his gun at the hostages.
Pirate2: Get to work!
MouriRan: *walks a little, standing in front of Conan*
Pirate1: Out of the way, girl. I have work to do.
* Pirate1 tries to push her out of the way.
MouriRan: *takes a deep breath and grabs the pirate's arm, pushing him against the floor with a karate-move, while kicking his gun next to Kogoro*
MouriKogoro: Raaaaw!!! *charges at the other pirate Ran didn't hit and throws him down
Pirate2: Ah shit!
* Pirate1 gets thrown down.
* Pirate2 gets hit by Kogoro.
* Pirate2 sees the other gun kicked next to Kogoro.
* Pirate2 grabs it.
* Pirate2 rolls away.

MouriKogoro: "Damn it!"
Pirate1: Hey, help me partner!
MouriRan: *curses under her breath* ... /I can’t protect Conan-kun or my dad without releasing this guy.../
Pirate2: Hey, hey. I'm a reasonable guy.
Pirate2: So back the hell up before I start shooting people.
Pirate2: Did I stutter?
Pirate2: Get away from me you karate freaks!
* Pirate2 threatens with a gun.
* MouriKogoro growls at the pirate and backs up
Pirate2: Yeah! Now let go of my partner.
MouriRan: *takes a deep breath, trying to sound as strong as possible* Drop the gun... or I'll break his arm. *grabs Pirate1's arm tighter*
* Pirate3 shouts, "Hey! What's going on down there?!"
Pirate2: Drop the gun or you'll break his arm...
Pirate2: Hm...
Pirate1: Hey!
Pirate1: You wouldn't!
Pirate2: No, I'm pretty sure I would.
Pirate1: Stop that!
Pirate2: No, yeah. I think I'm gonna hold onto the gun.
Pirate1: Damn you!
MouriRan: Drop it.
MouriRan: *starts pushing*
* EdogawaConan pops out a soccer ball and kicks it with the shoes on full power at the gun in the pirate's hand.
Pirate2: Agh!
Pirate2: Hey!
* Pirate2 runs.
* Pirate3 shouts, "HEY! Are you alright?!"
* Pirate2 shouts, "NO, you IDIOT!"
* Pirate2 rushes for the stairs to the bridge.
* MouriKogoro chases after the pirate. \Even if the other is armed, at least Ran is out of harm's way.\
* Pirate2 is slower than Kogoro and can't make it to the bridge in time.
MouriKogoro: "Grah!" *Tackles pirate 2 and pins him down.
Pirate2: Agh! Get off me!
MouriRan: Conan-kun...
EdogawaConan: Hai, Ran-neechan?
MouriRan: please, bring me the ropes.
EdogawaConan: Hai! *gathers up the ropes and brings them to her*
MouriRan: *ties up Pirate1* Stay here. Don't move Conan-kun! *runs to the bridge*
EdogawaConan: Eh, but.....*sigh* *watches Ran run off* Yeah...sure....*softly* stay safe, Ran...
MouriKogoro: "Ah. Ran." Smiles as Pirate 2 is trying to struggle to get free. "You really thought you could defeat the great detective Mouri Kogoro?"
MouriRan: Dad, there's someone else here! I have to find him! He screamed to someone, and then, rushed out...
* Pirate3 starts the engines and the ship starts moving.
MouriKogoro: "Ran, he could be armed just like these two. It's too dangerous for you to go look for them." *ties up pirate 2* "You stay here, I'll go look for them."
Pirate3: That took longer than I expected. But we were just idling before...
* MouriKogoro slightly stumbles from the engine starting up
MouriRan: Yes, sure, I'll stay right here! *rolleyes* ... *runs after Kogoro*
* Pirate3 glances out the window at the people coming for the bridge.
Pirate3: Yeah... screw that.
* Pirate3 heads for the back door to the bridge.
MouriKogoro: "Oi! Who's going to be with Conan?"
* MouriKogoro runs up to the door.
* MouriKogoro motions for Ran to do the same
MouriRan: *follows Kogoro*
* CargoShip is sailing on the deep blue sea.
* CargoShip has no one at its helm.
* CargoShip has two unconscious, beaten, and tied up shipping officials in its bridge.
MouriRan: \Oh... shit.\
MouriKogoro: "Damn it... Now there is no way to stop this thing!"
* Pirate3 rushes to the stern.
* EdogawaConan unties the two non-traitor sailors.
OshimaIchiro: About damn time.
HayashiMasaso: Thanks much.
EdogawaConan: Sorry. You're welcome. Let's get this ship back to the harbor, shall we?
OshimaIchiro: I noticed the thing started up again.
* MouriKogoro goes to the controls
MouriKogoro: "Damn..."
OshimaIchiro: We're sailing toward the harbor...
OshimaIchiro: Pretty quickly too.
HayashiMasaso: Does that mean that Maruyama-san was rescued?
EdogawaConan: Then we better get the ship either slowed down or turned, fast.
EdogawaConan: I'm not sure....
OshimaIchiro: I don't know. This seems a little reckless. We should investigate.
* OshimaIchiro heads for the bridge.
HayashiMasaso: I'll watch this guy, I guess...
* HayashiMasaso kicks the pirate.
HayashiMasaso: Poor Kawakami-san was knocked unconscious...
HayashiMasaso: He must have fainted from the pressure.
MouriKogoro: "Damn it, we are going too fast towards the harbor!" Kogoro scans the controls not sure what to do. He tries to turn the wheel
EdogawaConan: He was working with them. He'll be fine.
* CargoShip starts to turn very, very slowly.
MouriRan: I have no idea about these things...
MouriKogoro: "Ran, go see if the other sailors are awake. We need to stop this boat!"
* Pirate3 cuts the line tying his boat to the cargo ship.
Pirate3: Sorry partners. No reason for us all to go up in smoke.
* Pirate3 turns his boat around and sails away from the harbor.
MouriRan: H-- Hai!
MouriRan: *starts running around the boat, searching for the sailors*
* OshimaIchiro is working his way up the stairs to the bridge.
* OshimaIchiro bursts into the bridge, ready to fight.
* MouriKogoro spots a radio and tries to contact someone with it.
MouriKogoro: "Ah! Oshima-san!" Kogoro stepped away from the wheel.
OshimaIchiro: Mouri-tantei. Where is Maruyama-san?
MouriKogoro: "I don't know, but more importantly we are in trouble."
* OshimaIchiro notices the unconscious co-captain and manager in the corner.
OshimaIchiro: You're right. We are.
* OshimaIchiro shoulders his way to the controls.
OshimaIchiro: ... This is not good.
OshimaIchiro: I know a few things about boats, and we're on a collision course with the harbor...
OshimaIchiro: I'll try to slow us down... but I don't know if we can stop in time.
* OshimaIchiro pulls back the accelerator.
OshimaIchiro: Mouri-tantei...
OshimaIchiro: We may not be able to stop this in time, but there are lifeboats on either side of the boat.
OshimaIchiro: I want you to get the manager and co-captain out of here.

MouriKogoro: "There are too many people to load. Most of them are unconscious..."
OshimaIchiro: Two captured people, three guards, one manager, one captain, one detective, two guests.
OshimaIchiro: Well, in that case.
OshimaIchiro: If you insist on staying.
OshimaIchiro: I suggest you brace yourself.
* CargoShip is livin' large and in charge.
* MouriKogoro looks to Conan.
* CargoShip aspires one day to bring as much joy to people as those sporty speedboats.
* CargoShip is still going too fast.
MouriRan: Is-- is this speed normal?! *lost*
* OshimaIchiro is turning the wheel rapidly.
OshimaIchiro: This boat doesn't turn fast enough!
* EdogawaConan is helping get people into lifeboats.
EdogawaConan: \Ran...\
MouriKogoro: "Conan go look for Ran and the other guard!"
* EdogawaConan goes to look for Ran
* CargoShip is headed for the harbor.
* OshimaIchiro is at the helm.
MouriKogoro: "I'll start loading the unconscious folks into the life boats!" lifts up the co-captain and manager and carries them to the lifeboats.
MouriRan: Conan-kun...?
EdogawaConan: Ran-neechan! We have to get off the boat, it's going too fast!
* HayashiMasaso carries the pirates and the traitor to a boat.
* EdogawaConan grabs her hand and tugs her toward the lifeboats
HayashiMasaso: Mouri-chan, Edogawa-kun, do you know where the manager and the captain are?
HayashiMasaso: I haven't seen them, and we need to get off!
EdogawaConan: I don't know, Hayashi-san....and we don't have time to look...
EdogawaConan: We just have to hope ojisan found them....
HayashiMasaso: Ah-- Kogoro-san is on his way down with them!
HayashiMasaso: Get in a boat, I'll lower yours.
OshimaIchiro: Wait... we're in shallow waters, aren't we?
* MouriRan gets in the lifeboat
OshimaIchiro: There's still one last option...
OshimaIchiro: But that will only slow us down. We'll need to get everyone off first.
* OshimaIchiro ushers everyone onto boats.
* OshimaIchiro makes sure all the boats except the crew's is lowered.
* OshimaIchiro throws all the anchors off one side and jumps into the last boat.
* CargoShip groans.
* CargoShip is still set to turn all the way to starboard, and those anchors are really digging into the rock.
* CargoShip starts to tilt slightly, lines tense.
* CargoShip turns just slightly and crashes into a rock embankment instead of the [relatively] populated harbor.
OshimaIchiro: Damn. That's one way to stop a boat.
MouriKogoro: "Ah...But that one pirate got away...”
MouriKogoro: He curses to himself
HayashiMasaso: I guess that settles things...
OshimaIchiro: Yeah, that precious cargo wouldn't survive that.
HayashiMasaso: What was that cargo after all?
OshimaIchiro: Wait-- the manager didn't tell you?
HayashiMasaso: No, he wouldn't trust me with it.
OshimaIchiro: Oh, it's pretty obvious.
